Over the last decade, Briggs Racing has made some impressive developments with regards to OHV engine technology. The Animal engine has proven itself as a performer in almost every circuit imaginable, and as a proven competitor, has pressured the leaders of the performance aftermarket to come up with new developments to stay on top. With that in mind, valve train engineers at COMP Cams® GoParts™ have recently developed a Valve Spring Height Gauge to enable accurate installed spring height measurements for Animal and OHV race engine builders.

This new Animal Valve Spring Height Gauge is the latest technology to move from the performance aftermarket by way of COMP Cams® into the small engine performance market. The gauge assembles in the Briggs Animal valve train, taking the place of the valve spring, and twists open to the same height as the optimal valve spring installation. Retainers and locks are then installed for quick and easy readings. Reading just like a micrometer, the gauge can read installed height from .600” to .950” and is accurate to within .001”.
