Formula DRIFT has released the schedule of events for Round 6: Locked and Loaded at Infineon Raceway on August 21-22. Formula DRIFT will be joining the Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma weekend. “Formula DRIFT and Infineon Raceway is writing a new page in drifting history as this will be the first time a professional drifting championship round will be featured as part of a major racing weekend,” said Jim Liaw, president and co-founder of Formula DRIFT.

“We are looking forward to gaining new fans and showcasing the world’s best drifting action to IndyCar fans.”

Formula DRIFT drivers will be amongst the biggest stars in IndyCar racing, including Helio Castroneves, Danica Patrick, Dario Franchitti, Marco Andretti, Graham Rahal, and more. Fans will be treated to both drifting and IndyCar Series racing during the Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma weekend on August 21-23.

With only 2 events remaining the Formula DRIFT championship is still up for grabs. Chris Forsberg in the NOS Energy / Maxxis Tire Nissan 350Z in the Formula DRIFT Championship points lead is looking for his first championship. While Ryan Tuerck in the Mobil 1 / Gardella Racing Pontiac Solstice and hometown hero, Tyler McQuarrie in the Falken Tires Nissan 350Z are right behind him in the standings.

Both 2-day and 3-day weekend ticket packages are available on the Formula DRIFT website. Special ticket discounts will be available through various Formula DRIFT media and promotional partners as well.
