When it comes to Small Block Chevy drag strip performance, engines utilizing splayed valve technology have reigned supreme over the past few years. To maximize the valve train performance of this innovative GM engine technology, engineers at COMP Cams® went to work developing custom lobe layouts designed specifically for all out drag racing applications that are equipped with CFE SBX Pro Series cylinder heads.

The new CFE SBX Pro Series Camshafts from COMP Cams® are constructed from aircraft quality 8620 steel alloy for unmatched strength and include a host of other features for optimal Small Block Chevy performance. The 60mm finished journal size increases valve train stability, while the 43-degree intake and 46-degree exhaust lifter banks provide better pushrod angularity to the rocker arm for maximum performance and improved dynamic stability at higher engine speeds. To reduce engine weight without sacrificing durability, these camshafts include a 17mm gun drill through the center of the core.

Engineered for more aggressive drag racing applications with higher lobe lifts (.500"+), these cams take advantage of the more powerful “4 & 7 swap” firing order (1-8-7-3-6-5-4-2 cylinders). This technology is easier on the engine’s crankshaft due to smoother harmonics. Each cam is custom ground for each specific application to provide the best camshaft/CFE SBX Pro Series cylinder head combination for maximum GM performance.

These race-quality cores are kept in stock for quick delivery. Custom cores can also be supplied for applications with altered lobe spacing, rotated lifter bore angles or unusual lobe profiles or centerlines.
