Chris Forsberg Racing (CFR) announced today an extension of its partnership with Clarion Corporation of America as an associate sponsor for the 2009 Formula Drift season. Clarion, a leading manufacturer of high-performance, in-car entertainment and navigation systems, enters its second season with CFR and gains a larger logo placement on CFR’s NOS Energy Drink 350Z.
“We’re very happy to continue our relationship with Clarion. We had a great time representing them in the Formula Drift Series last year and look forward to another great year,” said Chris Forsberg, owner and driver. “I have always had the stereo cranked up in my drift cars while driving. Music has been a major influence in my life and it shows through in my driving style. I use Clarion products in all my personal and team vehicles; they are top of the line.”
“Clarion is proud to continue our sponsorship of the CFR team. Chris Forsberg embodies what Clarion is all about, combining his greatest passions of getting behind the wheel while enjoying great music and great sound. Chris just takes it to the next level by achieving the highest level of performance on the track by combining exceptional talent and by using the highest performance equipment available. Clarion is happy to provide audio / video systems to the team and hopefully many other passionate drivers and music enthusiasts will be inspired to follow in Chris’ footsteps”, stated Adam Thomas, VP of Marketing for Clarion Corporation of America.
Forsberg is one of the top Formula Drift drivers boosting 4 overall Formula Drift wins and numerous podiums. He competes in a heavily modified convertible Nissan 350Z powered by a Nissan Titan V8 engine and sports a Clarion VZ509 Receiver and a pair of Clarion SRG1620R 6 ½ inch speakers. Over the offseason, the car has been completely rebuilt removing any unnecessary weight and adding all carbon body panels resulting in the shedding over 100lbs of weight.
Entering its sixth season, the Formula Drift championship is comprised of 7 events in 5 states. The season kicks off on the streets of Long Beach, Calif. on April 11th where Forsberg will defend his 2008 championship event win.
