The new Citroen C4 with its sporty, elegant and firmed design inspires in the Golf class. Thanks to H&R these attributes have been accentuated even more as the team from Lennestadt attended to the newest Citroen model straight after its launch. The result is the development of a spring set which brings this modern French car around 30 millimetres closer to the tarmac. This not only perfectly suits the C4 but also makes it several shades more dynamic. Despite the more sporty design there is still enough remaining comfort with the H&R lowering for every day use.

The FIA has revealed that the World Rally Championship will switch to a non-turbo Super 2000 format from the 2011 season. While the S2000 route was always going to provide the future of the WRC car, the key decision was whether the cars should be modified to run with a turbo fitted to the engine or should remain standard, with the WRC finally electing not to run with a turbo fitted. Indeed the only chances that will be permissible will be changes to the bodywork of the car by means of removable aerodynamic devices, with the engine remaining standard.

The special feature of this year’s Cyprus Rally, the third round of the 2009 FIA World Rally Championship, is that it is a mixed-surface event, with one day of asphalt competition and two days on loose stages. Sébastien Loeb/Daniel Elena and Dani Sordo/Marc Marti will be looking to continue Citroën Total World Rally Team’s
winning sequence in their Citroën C4 WRCs which will feature a new livery. The island of Cyprus is situated at the eastern end of the Mediterranean and featured on the World Rally Championship seven times between 2000 and 2006 when its twisty, rocky stages earned it a reputation for being the slowest of the series. To mark its return to the WRC fold, the event has resuscitated the principle of a mixed asphalt/gravel format which was last used by the Rallye Sanremo in 1996. This year’s visit to Cyprus will kick off with a day on asphalt followed by two legs on gravel.

The final round of the 2008 World Rally Championship in Wales ended with Citroën claiming the 2008 Manufacturers’ world title*. This year’s crown comes after those previously notched up by the French firm in 2003, 2004 and 2005 and adds a further line to the make’s already illustrious record in motor sport. Today’s success comes shortly after the Driver’s title which was secured earlier in the season by Sébastien Loeb and Daniel Elena. By finishing this weekend’s Wales Rally GB in first and third places, the performances of Seb/Daniel and Dani Sordo/Marc Martí were amply sufficient to hand Citroën the championship double.

Shortly before flying out to Sapporo for the Rally Japan, Sébastien Loeb took the time to take up an invitation from the members of the Patrouille de France formation flying team to join them as passenger in one of the squad’s nine Alpha Jets. For his maiden flight, the four-time World Champion flew over the splendid landscapes of France’s Provence region and the French Alps. Following his arrival at the Patrouille de France’s base in Salon de Provence, the Citroën driver kicked off the day with a series of briefings with the pilots and mechanics, before being strapped into the passenger seat of the plane flown by Capitaine Ludovic Bourgeon, the team’s second solo pilot. The hour-long excursion saw the nine Alpha Jets pass over the Sainte Baume Mountain, Saint Tropez, Orange and Gap. The Patrouille de France concluded the flight with a short aerobatic display over the airfield.

The Citroen C4 is arguably the most handsome car in its class. The 180 bph VTS is well detailed and oozes French style.
K&N Engineering has released a High-Flow Air Intake System (69-3002TS) in silver for the 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007 Citroen C4 2.0 liter 180 bhp engine. The K&N Air Intake kit was made to fit this specific application. The silver matches the engine cover.
Simply remove the complete stock air box and fit the free flowing mandrel bent aluminum tube into the throttle housing. The new cold air intake system is supported by a bracket assembly. The chrome top K&N High Flow Air Filter (RC-9350) fits onto the new aluminum tube and is positioned to give virtually unrestricted air flow to the engine. Its placement takes advantage of the factory fresh air duct to feed the K&N Air Filter outside air. The K&N Air Filter is designed to provide increased surface area and dust capacity while providing excellent filtration.

The Citroën C6 is the official car for the summer university of the MEDEF (an organisation dedicated to entrepreneurs) held in Jouy en Josas near Paris from 29 to 31 August.
Besides providing transport with the C6, the Marque will be exposing three of its historical models: a pre-war C6, a present-day C6 and the C-Métisse concept car, which received the Louis Vuitton Classic Concept Award at this year’s Geneva Motor Show.
The C6 takes the essential cues of executive saloons – elegance, sophistication and presence – and adds its own unique stamp, combining strong emotional appeal with the application of avant-garde technology, together with pure, flowing body lines. Inside, the cabin creates an impression of space and comfort, with the clean lines of the dashboard, sophisticated interior design and noble materials.

Simon Jean-Joseph and Jack Boyère’s European campaign makes a port of call in Belgium next weekend for the 43rd Belgium Ypres Westhoek Rally. The French crew will be looking for a top result with their Citroën C2 Super 1600 which is built and run by PH Sport in association with staff from Citroën Sport. Ypres has long been an emblematic round of the European Rally Championship (ERC, Round 5) and this year also counts towards the Intercontinental Rally Challenge (IRC) of which it is the third round.
Much of the all-asphalt action is located near the French border, while the event’s main facilities are based in Ypres, including the celebrated, buzzing Market Square service park. The programme features two legs, with very short road sections taking crews out to the nine different stages – all within striking distance of Ypres – which they are scheduled to contest twice each.

A mechanical problem on SS11 put an untimely stop to the bid of Simon Jean-Joseph, Jack Boyère and their Citroën C2-R2 on the 2007 Rally Poland. The second day of the all-gravel WRC candidate event featured 129.32km of competitive action, divided into three stages north of Mikolajki to be contested twice each.
The French pair had completed the opening leg in fourth place in the European Rally Championship (ERC) participants’ standings and set off this morning determined to do all they could to improve on that position, even though the stages proved something of a handful first time round. “The roads were very twisty but also very fast and that didn’t really play in our favour,” commented Simon. “They twisted their way through woods and hanging dust was a problem. I still tried to push hard and the time spent familiarising myself with the car on Saturday enabled me to make the most of the Citroën C2-R2.”
