The new generation of wheels which was specially designed for the more sporting BMW models of the 1-series, 3-series, Z4 and X1, embodies an apparently fundamental contradiction. A reduction in weight with the same unchanged wheel diameter and width. This trick has been pulled off by the AC Schnitzer engineers and designers in collaboration with legendary wheel manufacturer “FUCHS“.

To emphasise further the sporting attributes of the new Type VIII forged alloy wheels, we can now offer the new “ContiForceContact“ event tyres for BMW vehicles. This new development by Continental in collaboration with reputable tuners is characterised above all by high steering precision and good driveability even in the wet. As a result, constantly fast lap times are guaranteed. Of course the ContiForceContact tyres feel just as good on public roads, because as well as the positive driving qualities, they are also legal for use in road traffic. ContiForceContact event tyres for BMW vehicles are available exclusively from AC Schnitzer. The enclosed list shows which wheel sizes and tyre combinations are available for the individual vehicles.

AC Schnitzer products, in particular wheels, undergo numerous tests to guarantee their strength in every situation. Recently impounded wheel copies which AC Schnitzer has passed to the TÜV for testing were found to be dangerous: The copy wheels broke! Because of poor quality, counterfeit copies can suffer sudden catastrophic damage not only in vehicles moving in the limit range but also on vehicles in “normal” use. No insurance will cover the consequences and resulting compensation claims.

BMW of North America has announced three BMW Performance aerodynamic accessories for the M3 Coupe, Sedan, and Convertible. The new rear deck lid spoiler[1], mirror caps, and front splitters are constructed of ultra-rigid carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) composite material, matching the standard CFRP roof panel of the M3 Coupe. Each component is shaped based on advanced research conducted in one of BMW’s Munich-based wind tunnels. This ensures compatibility with the overall aerodynamic “signature” of the M3, serving to reduce lift and minimize drag. Such characteristics are appropriate to enhance the vehicle’s high-speed stability while maintaining fuel efficiency.

BMW brought a tradition back to life when it lined up at the 78th staging of the Le Mans 24 Hours (FR) with an elaborately designed Art Car. American artist Jeff Koons’ BMW M3 GT2 Art Car really caught the eye in France.
