For those Corvette owners looking to add even more torque-holding capacity to their vehicles, Lingenfelter Performance Engineering (LPE) has designed a flywheel and clutch assembly kit that allows for the installation of a Corvette ZR1 clutch on LS2, LS3 and other LS-based engines. The Lingenfelter 6-bolt flange flywheel is an OEM spec steel design created specifically to accept the production 2009 General Motors ZR1 Corvette dual disk clutch pressure plate assembly.  This allows the ZR1 clutch to be installed on LS2, LS3 and other LS-based engines that use the more common 6-bolt crank flange.  Lingenfelter’s new clutch system is designed to provide excellent street drivability and good clutch pedal feel, while still offering exceptional power and torque holding capacity.

Mecum Auction sold more than 1,000 vehicles at their 23rd Annual Original Spring Classic Auction, May 19-23, 2010, in Indianapolis, Ind., where they offered an eclectic mix of classic muscle, race cars, trucks and even a Howard airplane.  Total gross sales (excluding buyer’s premium) for the five-day auction were $41.7 million. “A high-energy crowd and eager bidders participated in our flagship Original Spring Classic Auction, which had a final sell-through rate of 66%,” said President Dana Mecum.  “As our largest annual event, we strive to give enthusiasts a wide variety of vehicles to see, enjoy and purchase.  The buildings at the Indiana State Fairgrounds were packed wall to wall with everything from rare pace cars, exotic Mercedes-Benz and Model T’s to wooden boats, tractors and neon signs.  There truly was something for every taste and budget.”

Corvette’s Z06 can hold its own in any supercar challenge, unfortunately it is overshadowed by the new supercharged ZR1. However, now it’s easy to blur the lines between Z06 and ZR1 performance with the simple addition of Magna Charger’s new MP2300 high-helix supercharger. Based on the same Eaton TVS® supercharger rotating group as the ZR1, Magna Charger has refined its system with a high-velocity intake manifold with integral water-to-air intercooler, plus a supercharger case designed to provide optimum flow. The result is 130 more rear wheel horsepower and a 110 ft.lbs. increase in rear wheel torque – all with no other modifications to the vehicle.
