Coker Tire, the world’s largest supplier of collector and vintage vehicle tires and wheels, recently received the rights to distribute M&H Racing Tires in an effort to expand its racing product line and offer the ultimate selection of drag race tire applications, compounds and technology.

Some consider Corky Coker, President of Coker Tire, a modern-day “Indiana Jones,” traveling the world in search of forgotten treasures, only in his case the bounty is not jewels, but long-lost tire molds. Now, celebrating its 50th year in business, Coker Tire Company continues its commitment to the process of uncovering these rarities and providing discriminating automobile collectors with the finest classic tires.

Coker Tire, the world’s largest supplier of collector vehicle tires and wheels, announces its acquisition of Phoenix Racing Tires, one of the most trusted names in drag racing.  The acquisition spearheads the 2008 launch of Coker Tire’s new Performance Brand division.

“Phoenix is one of the country’s leading drag racing tire brands.  I’m thrilled that we now have the opportunity to take this great line to the next level,” says Corky Coker, president of Coker Tire Company. “We’ve kicked off our 50th Anniversary year by announcing Phoenix’s arrival and will soon be rolling out our national distribution plan for Phoenix.  Our new performance brand division’s marketing plan is exciting!”

At this past weekend’s Hot Rod Cinematic event in Gallipolis, Ohio, Coker Tire sponsored a fun contest during the drive-in movie portion of the event.  Inspired by the glory days of drive-in movies and the common practice of hiding multiple people in the car, Corky Coker submitted a challenge to all attendees.  As the world’s largest supplier of collector vehicle tires, Coker Tire offered a $750 gift certificate to the person who snuck in the most people in one vehicle. 

By stuffing 39 people including toddlers, kids, women and even large men into his Chevrolet P10 step-van, Charlie Brewer was declared the winner and awarded his Coker Tire gift certificate towards a new set of Coker tires.  After reading about the contest on H.A.M.B. message board on JalopyJournal.com, Brewer knew he had a good chance with the old catering van that he drives on a daily basis.  He rounded up as many kids from the show as possible and then filled out the rest of the space with adults. 

Corky Coker, president of Coker Tire, the world’s largest supplier of collector vehicle tires, was recently named one of the top 50 North American automobile collectors of 2006 by Keith Martin’s Sports Car Market.

“I just feel like this is one of those use it or loose it situations,” said Coker.  “It’s our job as collectors and car enthusiasts to pass this love of chrome and rubber on to the next generation.  That will never happen if we keep our classic cars hidden under cover in a garage.”
