Production Car World Rally Championship (P-WRC) driver Toshi Arai will compete in Round 6 of the 2010 Intercontinental Rally Challenge (IRC), the Geko Ypres Rally in Belgium on June 25 and 26. This will be the first IRC event for Toshi who will be driving a Group N SUBARU Impreza WRX STI. The Ypres Rally is an all-tarmac event around the town of Ypres in western Belgium. It is a classic rally which has been held as part of the European Rally Championship (ERC) for many years.

The Polish Rally, round three of the Polish Rally Championship, which also counts for the European Rally Championship, concluded with an overall victory for the brand new Group N Subaru Impreza WRX STI spec C, which is entirely developed and built by Belgian team Symtech Racing. The SUBARU Poland crew of Kajetan Kajetanowicz and Jarek Baran drove faultlessly and did not experience the slightest problem throughout the event.

Subaru Road Racing Team (SRRT) drivers Andrew Aquilante and Bret Spaude raced their 2010 Subaru Impreza WRX STI to a solid fifth place finish in this past weekend’s GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Grand Sport race at the famed, 1.53-mile Lime Rock Park racing circuit, round five of the series. Driving a car race-prepared and tuned by Phoenix Performance of Phoenixville, Pa., Andrew Aquilante of Phoenixville, Pa., and co-driver Bret Spaude, of Bushnell, Fla. whose ages combined (44 years) amount to less than most of their individual competitors, took the green flag from a season-best 11th spot on the 31-car starting grid, and ran as high as second place under pit stop sequencing.

The very last Subaru Impreza World Rally Car, WRC2008-011 has been delivered to its customer. The car was first used by the Subaru World Rally Team in 2008, but was fully rebuilt to the original specification.  Ironically, the previous World Rally Car built by Prodrive was also the very first it ever made, Impreza WRC97-001.  This car was recently fully restored for a customer.

Subaru Road Racing Team (SRRT) drivers Andrew Aquilante and Bret Spaude are entered to compete in this weekend’s fifth round of the GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge at the Lime Rock Park racing circuit scheduled Saturday at 3pm ET, as the series hits the halfway point of its 2010 road racing season.

In windy (20-45 mph gusts of wind) and sunny, 80-degree weather at Las Vegas International Raceway, The Super Lap Battle Qualifier weekend completed with a crowd of people standing on the walls watching as the cars battled it out. Crawford Performance performed far better than expected for their first debut of the year with new driver, Thomas Smith at the helm.

Subaru Rally Team USA’s Travis Pastrana wins his second event of the 2010 Rally America National Championship Series on the tricky gravel roads of the Olympus Rally held on Washington State’s picturesque peninsula.  Pastrana started strong from the very first stage of the event and maintained his lead over Rally America points leader Antoine L’Estage. By the end of the weekend Pastrana won 8 out of the 13 stages and built a 1:42.8 minute cushion over L’Estage.

The original MY08 Type-20 “Concept” was unveiled at the 2008 Autosport show where it received a very enthusiastic welcome, the car subsequently went on to received critical in the UK motoring press. The 2010 Type-20 is designed to improve each aspect of the 2008 car. Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd(FHI), the maker of Subaru automobiles, today announces that the Subaru Impreza WRX STI spec C* (Japanese specifications model) successfully completed the vehicle homologation process and received the official Group N Homologation certificate from FIA (Federation Internationale de l’Automobile) as of April 1, 2010.

The first gravel round of the 2010 P-WRC took place over the weekend in the Rally Mexico. Two-time Production Car World Rally Champion Toshi Arai was joined by Gianluca Linari as the sole Impreza runners. With new co-driver Daniel Barritt onboard, Toshi made a fresh start in P-WRC. Although he had problems with the power steering in second place on the opening stage, he took the top spot by a wide margin, 23.3 seconds.

The K&N High-Flow Intake System for the 2008-10 Subaru WRX STI, (part no. 69-8005TTK) increases horsepower by 17.52 hp at 5260 rpm over the stock intake configuration. To achieve such a performance increase, K&N replaces the original intake assembly; including the air box, air filter and intake tube with an all-new intake design. The new system draws air through a K&N High-Flow Air Filter that increases airflow and never needs to be replaced. Protecting the cone-shaped air filter, and isolating it from engine heat, is a powder coated heat shield that replaces the stock air box. As it passes the filter, air travels through a K&N mandrel bent aluminum tube that is formed and shaped, in the design phase, to drive a more laminar flow of air to the car’s engine. 

Subaru Rally Team USA is pleased to announce today the selection of VP Racing Fuels products for their 2010 rally campaign.  The partnership includes VP Fuels being designated the Official Fuel of Subaru Rally Team USA.  Subaru Rally Team USA, managed by Subaru technical partner Vermont SportsCar, is headed by four-time defending Rally America National Champion Travis Pastrana and BMX legend Dave Mirra. The team is scheduled to compete in the six event 2010 Rally America National Championship, ESPN’s X Games 16 Rally Car Racing event as well as Rally America’s three all-new European-style RallyCross exhibition events this fall.

Despite a small entry of only three SUBARU cars in the season-opening Swedish Rally, drivers Patrik Flodin and Anders Grondal secured the top two spots in the Production class after three days’ rallying in the snow. Right from the opening stages on Friday, local driver Flodin maintained his position as leader of the P-WRC, never having to push too hard to stay in the top spot. New suspension settings on the morning of Day two made the car very bouncy at the front, but this was safely remedied at the lunchtime Service.

The Limited models are priced $1,000 more than the Premium models, and are enhanced with High-Intensity Discharge (HID) headlights, SIRIUS(®) Satellite Radio and leather-trimmed seats.
