K&N Engineering has released a new 69-series Typhoon Air Intake (69-4002TB) in powder coated blue for the 2005 and 2006 Ford Fiesta 2.0 liter engine. These vehicles are found in many parts of the world, however, they are not sold in the US and Canada.

The aerodynamic design of this complete cold air intake was made by K&N engineers to provide a custom fit for the Fiesta. “This Typhoon Performance Intake Kit was made in the UK together with the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) Group,” said K&N Product Development Technician Patrick Jacobs. “The prototype was tested on four different cars. People who have driven the car with this Typhoon Kit are amazed that it could make such a difference.”

The K&N Air Filter (RC-9310) mounts under the front of the bumper which allows the typhoon to get a consistent flow of cool fresh air for additional power. K&N Typhoon Systems improve engine performance. A K&N Drycharger filter wrap is included. Installation of this air induction system should take no more than 90 minutes using basic tools.

There is a magic combination in the automotive world that combines “Shelby” and “Mustang.” It is the latest hot rod pony that has a supercharged 5.4 liter engine.

K&N Engineering, Inc. has designed a 63-Series AirCharger Intake System (63-2571) for the 2007 Ford Mustang Shelby GT-500 5.4 liter V8 engine. K&N dynamometer test show a horsepower gain of 53.71 @ 5900 RPM.

“One of the reasons for such a large power gain is the large K&N Air Filter (RF-1048),” said K&N Performance Kit Manager Bert Heck. “The factory air box was restricted in size and restrictive in air flow especially at higher RPMs. We made a larger intake tube that fit nicely under the front stabilizer bar.”

“The tube is oval because the throttle body was oval. This also allowed the tube cross section to be larger,” said Heck. “The large horsepower gain of this air intake is also due to the radius adaptor design as it smoothly takes the 6 inch flange of the air filter and mates it with the intake tube.”

K&N Engineering released a new 69-Series Typhoon Air Intake (69-6502TR) in powder coated red for the 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse 3.8 liter V6 engine. “This Typhoon Air Intake System uses the factory Mass Air Flow sensor,” said K&N Project Technician Nestor Cabrera. “We also took the design of the Eclipse into account and used the existing fresh air scoop and factory mounting points used by the factory air box.”

K&N dynamometer test show a 13.07 horsepower gain @ 5400 RPM for this Typhoon Intake. “The horsepower and torque gains are exceptional for this car,” said Cabrera. “The high flow K&N Air Filter is included and provides smooth non turbulent air into the intake tube. The heat shield also isolates the K&N Air Filter from the engine compartment and keeps the air around it cool.”

It takes about an hour to install this kit with simple hand tools. K&N Typhoon Systems are designed to improve engine performance along with under the hood visual appeal.
