It was not until 2005 that Ings+1 released the first body kit available for the 2005 Subaru Impreza WRX STi (known in Japan as the GDB E-Type); a kit now lusted after by many 2005 STi enthusiasts.  Ings+1 recently announced that a body kit for the 2006 Subaru Impreza WRX STi (known in Japan as the GDB E-Type) is coming soon.

This comes on the heals of the announcement by Tommykaira to offer a tuned Japanese Impreza, called the Tommykaira M20b.  The release of this vehicle is expected in the Winter of 2005 and will include a complete body kit that has piqued the interests of Subaru enthusiasts throughout the world.

Still, its expected that Ings+1 will be the first to offer a body kit for the 2006 STi and more likely at a price more enthusiasts can afford.

Announcements like these suggest that tuners and manufacturers are heeding the calls by enthusiasts for the timely release of aftermarket products shortly after the release of new vehicle models.

One of the very first tuners in Japan to announce the availability of a tuned version of the all new 2006 Subaru Impreza WRX STi (known as the F-Type Impreza in Japan, referring to the body model), Tommykaira posted a preproduction image of what will be known as the M20b on its website. (see below).

The M20b sports a new stylized body kit that greatly enhances the look of the STi by removing the grille that comes standard on the 2006 (F Type) Impreza.  When Subaru released the new model, many enthusiasts disliked it because the front end of the STi looked too busy or too ugly.  The M20b shows off the first body kit ever considered for production and is very popular with enthusiasts---that is until they learn of the price tag.  Generally, Tommykaira items are priced in the very high end of the market and reflects the time, style, quality, and research and engineering that goes into Tommykaira’s products.
