BFGoodrich/Hurst/Woodhouse Ford Mustang Pace Car, built by Hurst Performance in conjunction with Woodhouse Auto Family of Blair, Neb. and BFGoodrich, sold for $120,000 at the 39th Annual Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction in Scottsdale, Ariz. One hundred percent of the proceeds will benefit the newest Victory Junction Gang Camp in Kansas City, KS, a year-round facility that serves children with chronic medical conditions and serious illnesses. In addition to taking home the highly-collectible pace car, Kyle and Pattie Petty, founders of Victory Junction Gang Camps, extended a special bonus to the winning bidder; an invitation to be their guests for a day for a tour of the Camp, an afternoon of hunting or fishing with Kyle and then join them for dinner at the Petty Farm.

Lingenfelter Performance Engineering’s 2010 L28 Camaro SS will be featured on the Powerblock Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 23-24, 2010, beginning at 11 a.m. EST on Spike TV. The supercharged Camaro, along with exclusive interviews by Powerblock host Courtney Hansen with Ken Lingenfelter, owner of Lingenfelter Performance Engineering, will air between various Powerblock programs throughout the weekend. Introduced at the 2009 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show, the Lingenfelter Camaro was awarded the General Motors Design Award for Best Sports Car. Hurst Performance, a company responsible for some of the most iconic pace cars in history, and Woodhouse Auto Family of Blair, Nebraska, have once again partnered with Victory Junction. This time, the highly-collectible, 2010 BFGoodrich/Hurst Mustang convertible is set to pace the upcoming “Run to Victory Half Marathon and Five Mile Run/Walk” race presented by Wal-Mart. The race will benefit Victory Junction, a year-round camping facility that serves children with chronic medical conditions or serious illnesses. The Run to Victory Half Marathon and Five Mile Run/Walk will be one of the pace car’s last stops, as it makes its way to the upcoming Barrett-Jackson Auction in Scottsdale, Ariz. The car will be auctioned on January 23, with proceeds benefitting the newest Victory Junction Camp in Kansas City.

In sunny, 80-degree weather at Willow Springs International Raceway, Crawford Performance marked a huge day at the October 10th SubieFest 2009. Exhibiting their own vehicles and contributing performance engineering to other teams, Crawford Performance sponsored six cars in the weekend event sponsored by SubieSport Magazine. Highlights from the weekend included a first place finish and SubieFest track record by LIC Motorsports in the Unlimited Time Attack-sponsored 2004 Subaru STI driven by Dr. Russ Warr. The car featured a Crawford S3RL-i short block, CP35R turbo kit and engine management tuning by Crawford Performance and finished with a new Subie Fest track record with a 1:22.519, demolishing the previous year’s record by over 6 seconds.

The No. 5 Iacocca Silver 45th Anniversary Edition Mustang, one of the most anticipated limited edition versions of the renowned Ford Mustang, sold for $352,000, the top price paid for a new car overall at the 2nd Annual Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas auction on October 9. At approximately 6:30pm PDT, the auction began with a personal video message from Lee Iacocca himself, with cheers from the crowd. As the Iacocca Mustang drove up onto the stage, it was rushed by fans and bidders.

After two years of research and development and two weeks of grueling 20-hour days, the Spectre Performance SpeedLiner is officially in the record books as the fastest Cadillac and Blown Gas Streamliner on earth. Competing in the Southern California Timing Association (SCTA) AA/BGS class for streamlined vehicles running on gasoline, the Cadillac-powered SpeedLiner averaged 330.9 mph over the course of two runs with veteran driver Kenny Hoover at the wheel.

The third annual Carmel-By-The-Sea Concours on the Avenue was held August 11, 2009 as part of the prestigious Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. This year’s Master Of Ceremonies was Ed Justice, Jr. presiding over the Concours On The Avenue portion of the 10-day collector car extravaganza for the third time. The Concours on the Avenue focuses on vehicles usually not seen in the Pebble Beach event. It features multi-marque classes from 1940 through 1973, with Porsche from 1948 and Farrari from 1947, both running through 1989.

The championship-winning 1965 Shelby Daytona Cobra Coupe CSX2601 has made history again, selling for a record-breaking $7.25 million at Mecum’s inaugural Monterey Auction on August 15, 2009. That price tag sets the record for the highest price paid for an American car at public auction. High performance collector car specialists Mecum Auction promoted the Daytona Cobra Coupe - American racing’s Crown Jewel - for months leading up to the auction.
