The inaugural Gymkhana Grid Racing Series event, The Ken Block Invitational took over the Toyota Irwindale Speedway in Southern California this past weekend. The event was a huge success with nearly 6,000 people coming out to Saturday’s finals and more than 375,000 people tuning into the two-day live webcast.
“The Gymkhana Grid event turned out amazing,” said Ken. “I was stoked to help bring the fun and excitement from my videos back to the competition-based roots of real head-to-head gymkhana. DC’s Ken Block makes a stop at the DC Melrose Store as he comes into town for Summer X Games 16. The DC Co-Founder and Rally athlete will be meeting fans and signing autographs at the DC Melrose Store tomorrow, July 28th from 5 to 7 PM. Look for Ken at Summer X Games 16 as he is set to compete in both Rally disciplines, Rally Car Racing and SuperRally on Saturday, July 31st at the LA Coliseum.

Coinciding with the blog launch is the announcement of the first Gymkhana THREE Project contest, which will run for a week beginning today, June 1st and end next Tuesday, June 8th. 

DC and Ken Block are proud to announce that they have begun development on the highly anticipated Gymkhana THREE project. Set to release in Summer 2010, the project will feature the DC Co-Founder and Rally car driver taking the art of gymkhana to a whole new level.

DC Co-Founder, Chief Brand Officer and Rally team driver, Ken Block, debuted his 2011 Ford Fiesta complete with a fresh new design and graphics this past weekend at the Sno* Drift Rally in Atlanta, MI. A collaborative effort between Ken and DC, the new car features an overall paint drip graphic that is an evolution from designs on Ken’s prior cars. For the finishing touches, Ken selected Huck Gee, known for his evil skull illustration and Kid Robot toy, to create a personalized KB logo treatment on the car including Huck’s signature skull re-done into a block shape for a play on Ken’s last name, and a # 43 plate on the side of the car.

Travis Pastrana, DC athlete and the star of this year’s Red Bull: New Year. No Limits., will make a special autograph signing appearance at the DC Store on Melrose Avenue, on Tuesday, December 29th, from 5 PM – 7 PM PT.

On December 31, 2009 Travis Pastrana will attempt to shatter the word record for car distance jumping. A new Rally video has DC Co-Founder and Rally Team Member Ken Block having a bit of fun in a vintage rear wheel drive Ford Escort at Team O’Neal’s Rally School in New Hampshire. World Rally Championship driver, Chris Atkinson joined Block for the practice and video that resulted, now live at dcshoes.com/auto.
